I set up the accountancy firm that has become RHB in 1995 in Te Puke, after working as a senior insolvency manager at one of the Big 4 accountancy firms, following a career with a large New Zealand bank and an international oil company. As a specialist investigating and insolvency accountant, I regularly provide expert assistance across all industry sectors. I have personally handled over a thousand receiverships and/or insolvencies and have an acknowledged expertise in restructuring businesses. I think I must have seen everything that a company structure can throw up, so I can get quickly to the core of the problem to develop a sharp response designed to turn the business around. Much of this work is at the coal face, as we typically trade the company on for as long as we can during its restructuring, before its eventual sale or liquidation. This has given me invaluable real-life experience on both sides of the fence, and I understand the very human emotions that company owners go through during a receivership. Kenneth Brown joined us in 2001 and we eventually formed the partnership into a company and introduced other Directors from 2007. I was born in Te Aroha, and I’ve lived in the Waikato/Bay of Plenty area most of my life. I’ve had a long association with greyhound racing through to national administration level, and I still breed greyhounds and dabble with trotters. I’m a keen sports spectator, and love the big occasion. |
