I learned my trade with one of the Big 4 firms in Ireland and Australia before marrying a New Zealander and relocating to Tauranga in 2005. I joined RHB as an Associate in April 2008 and became a Director in December 2010. My skills are applied in a Business Advisory role to assist RHB clients with their accounting, tax compliance, tax planning and structuring issues. This involves undertaking independent appraisals, pre-purchase due diligence, feasibility studies and audits. I’ve seen enough in my time to appreciate what works best, and what can be learned from other people’s failures, to ensure my clients don’t make the same mistakes as our insolvency clients. I look to protect our clients’ assets and business structures, and to develop and maintain effective business information systems. Business appraisal and turnaround is one of my specialities, and I also handle insolvency work. My client base covers self-employed professionals through to manufacturers and exporters. I’m also a trustee of a local charitable trust as a means of giving back to the community. I first qualified as a Chartered Accountant in Dublin in 1998 and am also a member of the New Zealand Institute of Chartered Accountants. I spend most spare time with my young family, but I have brought my passion for golf with me, and I also enjoy jogging and brewing my own beer. |
