I have 15 years experience in chartered accountancy. I joined RHB in November 2006, and became a Director in April 2007. Being part of a full-service Accounting firm is very fulfilling, and there’s a genuine eagerness to share complementary skills as part of a team culture. My specialty is tax planning and business consulting, with particular expertise and passion in the property and restructuring areas. With my extensive accounting and taxation experience, I regularly provide well-planned, strategic assistance to growing businesses, designed to future-proof their interests. This could include developing beneficial exit strategies. My work portfolio also includes asset protection, succession planning and reviewing legal documents. I have clients in retail, manufacturing, hotels and transport, so I am strict on risk management across the supply chain. On the property side, I regularly work in commercial property, assisting in renegotiating leases and on the accounting side of build-for-lease developments. I am experienced in dealing with subdivisions and I advise clients on the risks associated with property purchases and sales. I was raised in Tauranga since the age of five, and now I have a young family here. Together we enjoy a healthy interest in scuba diving and fishing and are involved in the Variety Club children’s charity. Education is another passion for me, and I’m involved in ownership of a private training organisation that provides alternative education for young people who have been ejected from the college scene. We marry the needs of industry by training our students for specific roles in the workforce.
